Our barangay Boliwong has plenty of scenic spots and tourist destinations suitable for caving,

mountaineering, relaxing, and place of serenity. From the entrance at Awao, we have the “Dumulao
Rock”. It is a big rock that overlooks some portion of Boliwong. Elders say that it is where the witch of
Boliwong namely “Dumulao” resides during the old times. The said spot became widely popular in
Lagawe and even the neighboring municipalities last year during the peak of the pandemic because it is
known for its sea of clouds early in the morning. People went there to view the sunrise slowly rising with
the sea of clouds in sight. Now, we are going to the shoulder part of Boliwong at Kullatop where we
have the “Bahug River”. It is a river control with strong water current flowing down into the lower part
of the river. It also became popular last year during the pandemic where resorts are closed so people
from the barangay and neighboring barangays came to swim, relax, have a party, cook foods and
appreciate nature. It is known for the cool environment because it is surrounded by big trees, deep
water to swim and beautiful rock formations. As we go farther, we will reach the “Mini Natural Pool” of
Onon where the water there cascades directly down from Mt. Kahibag of Boliwong. It is like a mini pool
with beautiful big rock formations surrounding the place. It is also an ideal place to have a picnic with
family and friends. Now that I’ve mentioned “Mt. Kahibag”, I will recommend it for people who loves
mountaineering. It is the neighboring mountain of Mt. Atugu. When you go to the peak of the mountain,
you will see the whole view of Boliwong and the mountains surrounding it. After we went to “Mt.
Kahibag” we will go to the second famous destination of Boliwong. It come with many names like
“Kugu”, “Syphone” and “Cyprum” but tourists and the citizens of Boliwong prefer “Cyprum River”. A
place frequently compared to the underground river of Palawan. It is located at Liyang, the upper part of
Boliwong where it has a cave, beautiful rock formations, waterfalls and a river with cool, fresh and clean
water to swim and take photos. Now let’s go to the most famous spot in Boliwong. The “Nahtoban
Cave” where is it marked by the Department of Tourism as a tourist spot. Historically speaking, it serves
as a safe haven for the citizens of Boliwong to hide during the World War 2. Now let us learn more about
the said spot. It is a cave with three openings that can lead you to the different portions of the cave. The
cave is very wide with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites all over the place. It has very cool water
inside but as you go deeper, it will start to get hot. It has plenty of bats and some species of birds that
can be found there. It has a Mama Mary like statue formed by the limestone that can be seen on the
wide middle part of the cave. However, vandalism is inevitable all around the place where stalactites
and stalagmites are cut or destroyed by visitors. The last commendable spot to visit in Boliwong is the
“Mt. Nabandelaan” where you can see the sea of clouds and beautiful sunset and sunrise. You will also
view the 4 Poblacions of Lagawe and a binocular is recommended for good views. It is ideal for camping
and partying for it has a wide and flat peak. So after all, I recommend that you must visit the above
mentioned scenic spots to appreciate the creation of God. A friend and relatives from Boliwong can
accompany you to visit the tourist destinations I’ve mentioned.
