(2) Assume suitable data wherever necessary. (3) Illustrate your answers wherever necessary with the help of neat sketches. (4) Use pen of Blue/Black ink/refill only for writing the answer book. 1. (a) Explain what do you mean by Program Status Word (PSW). Give the format. What will be the contents of PSW after the following program is completely executed ? Assume Reg B = BC H initially. UYQ-3110 1 (Contd.) LXI SP, 4F FF H XRAA MOV A, B MOV B,A ADDB PUSH PSW HLT 8 (b) Explain what do you understand by addressing modes ? Explain the various addressing modes of 8085 with suitable examples each. 5 OR 2. (a) Identify the total T states and no. of machine cycles required for the execution of the instruction MOV B, M. Draw the timing diagram for this instruction whose opcode is 46 H. 8 (b) Explain execution of following instructions of 8085 pp with examples each : @ XTHL @) DAD B. 342 uYQ—3110 2 (Contd.) +2 d.) 3. 4 @ () UYQ—3110 @ ) Discuss the use and operation of : @ Assembler (i) Simulator. 6 Write an assembly language program to find out how many times the given number is present in the list of numbers. The number is stored at C239H. The length of the list is stored at C240H, and the list begins at C241H. Store your result in memory location C500H. , 8 OR A memory chip (ROM) of size 8k is to be interfaced such that its end address is DFFFH. Also interface a 2048 x 8 RAM whose starting address is A000 H. Draw the interfacing schematics with rp 8085 and specify the complete memory map of the memory interfaced. Use absolute addressing. 7 Write an assembly language program to find number of 0’s and number of 1’s present in a given 8 bit data. The given data is 6 BH and is stored at memory location C250 H. Store your results in suitable memory locations. 7 3 (Contd.) 5. (a) Explain the following data transfer techniques in pp 8085 : @ Status check/polling i) Interrupt driven. 6 (b) Draw the internal block diagram of USART 8251 A. "Discuss the functions of following pins : @® c/D Gi) TXE Gii) Synchronous/Break detect. of OR 6. (a) With suitable schematics explain the implementation of a software interrupt RST 6 as hardware interrupt using INTR and INTA pins of 8085. > (b) Write subroutine to transmit an ASCII character I (code 49 H) stored in Register C, using SOD line as 1 bit o/p port. Given band rate is 110. Also draw the flowchart for this process. 8 7. (a) Write an assembly language program to generate a delay of 1 sec using 8254 PIT. Assume the clock frequency available is 1.5 MHz. 8 uYQ—3110 4 (Contd.) (b) Explain the formats of command register and mode register of 8237 DMA controller. 6 OR 8. (a) PPI 8255 is interfaced with pp 8085 such that address for Port A is FOOCH. It is required to read 125 samples from Port B configured in mode 1, using status check method. Write an ALP to read these samples after delay of 1 sec each, store all the samples in the memory starting from address COOFH onwards. Assume the delay subroutine of 1 sec is available. 8 (b) Explain following modes of 8254 with suitable waveforms. Also explain effect of gate signal in each mode : @ Mode 1 (i). Mode 2 ii) Mode 5. 6 9. (a) What do you mean by addressing modes ? With suitable examples explain the different addressing modes supported by 8086 pip.
