When pressed simultaneously with the Alt key (only the one on the right),
the yellow keys above become “dead keys” and produce marks that do not
appear until the next letter is typed and they are automatically combined.
Here the dead keys’ accents, diacritics, and other marks are shown.
They combine with either lower case or capital letters.
(The Macintosh Alt-Latin Keyboard uses either Option key, not Alt.)

The rest of the keys, when combined with Alt key, produce a variety of lett
signs, and symbols. The blue keys above show the lower case options, when
Alt and the letter are pressed simultaneously. The blue keys below show the
upper case options, when both Alt and Shift are pressed simultaneoulsy with
the letter. (Macintosh Alt-Latin uses either Option key instead of Alt.)
