Answer the following questions:
1. What is the function of a reservoir?
Ans: Water stored in reservoir is used for breeding fishes and during monsoon, the
reservoir fills up. This prevents floods inthe rivers.

2. Why is it important to conserve water ?

Ans: It is important to conserve water for the following reasons :
* The water in the seas and ocean is salty this water is neither fit for
drinking nor fit to be used by farmers for watering their crops.
* Less than 3% of the available water on Earth is fit for consumption.
* People waste water.
* During the summer months , many rivers dry up.
