In recent years, there has been growing interest in the relationship between equality and

personal achievement. Some people believe that individuals can achieve more in
egalitarian societies. Others believe that high levels of personal achievement are
possible only if individuals are free to succeed or fail according to their individual merits.
What is your view of the relationship between equality and personal success?

Equality has long been a debatable subject. Many link it to the matter of personal success,
which refers to whether equality has a role in achieving success or not. Some people believe
that equality does have a significant role in personal achievement while some express that it is
the personal privileges that play a more important role. From my standpoint, equality, which
provides everyone with same opportunity and boost self-development, and personal
achievement have a close-knit bond. This bond will be rationalized in the following essay.
To commence with, equality provides everyone with equal amount of opportunity, leading to
higher chance of personal success. Equality is defined as ensuring everyone having the same
chance, having the same opportunity to develop. It challenges and breaks any gender, skin
tone, gender and sexual orientation stereotype and focuses on the competency of every
individual. Therefore, instead of the opulent gaining a chance to be a manager, anyone who
have the skills and ability can stand a chance for the position. According to UNDP, in many
developed countries, where are governed my both male and female, the nation’s financial
development is more sustainable than that of countries with male-dominated governance.
Next, equality creates a positive working environment for self-development. As mentioned
above, egalitarianism solely concentrates on the individual’s ability. This incentivizes everyone
to keep learning and keep making effort to achieve a goal. With herd self-development boosted,
a positive competitiveness is displayed in the working environment. Not only does this sprit
improve the total productivity, but it also assists workers to achieve their goals faster and more
efficiently. Furthermore, in a fair working condition, everyone can learn from each other since
everyone starts from different background, has different experience and holds different
viewpoints. In a research, the work efficiency and productivity of employees working in an
egalitarian environment is 40% higher than employees working in an unequal environment.
Personal success is factored in by many elements but one of the most important element is
equality. The connection of equality and individual achievement is irrefutable courtesy the
provision of equal amount of opportunity and the creation of further self-development.
