The given column graph compares the amount of money spent by five age groups of the British citizens

on three different items, in the year 2004. Generally, it is clear that as age advanced, the spending
priorities of people changed. Almost older people spent money on food and drink except for the 30-
year-old-age groups, while the opposite was true for restaurant and hotel in most of other age groups.

It is noticeable that most of the age groups spent the majority of their budget on food and drink, except
for the 30-year-old-age group and between 60 and 75 years of age. Especially, the 76+ age group was
spent the largest amount of their budget on food and drink with 23% as opposed to only 5% for the
under 30-year-age-group. All age groups below 60s allocated the relatively similar percentage of budget
on restaurant and hotel at around 13%, while the 61-75 age group paid at least amount. Meanwhile, the
spending on restaurant and hotel of 76+ age group accounted for 7% of the total. At least, the under 60s
and 76+ age group spent less on entertainment, it took nearly 13%. Meantime, the 60-75 years age
group spent a huge amount of money on entertainment.
