I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Scott Barton for ​Music Teacher positions
available in your district​. ​I have known Scott as a colleague and teacher at Moreau Catholic High
School and found him to be an outstanding person and musician who works extremely hard at
both his own abilities and his ability to contribute to the profession and to his students.

An excellent vocalist and conductor, the choral program at MCHS improved significantly during
his time in the position. The quality of his choir’s repertoire and performances markedly
improved from the beginning and, as a result of his teaching skills, his students became some of
the most recognized and honored singers in the region as demonstrated by their acceptance and
participation in highly auditioned regional honor choirs.

Scott’s choir made regular performances at our annual choral festival and I found both him and
his students to be inquisitive and willing to take chances. I was always impressed by the quality
of the repertoire he chose, the high standards he set for his students, and their sincere effort to
reach them. Scott is a natural teacher and leader and I believe he will be an asset to any program
lucky enough to employ him. I am delighted to enthusiastically recommend Scott to you with no
hesitation whatsoever and am available at any time for further comment.
