Congratulations! It is a pleasure to accept you to The University of Alabama Graduate School College
of Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering MML program, beginning the Fall 2021
semester.

Graduate study at The University of Alabama is a life-changing experience. You will work and conduct
research in world-class facilities with some of the best and brightest scholars, creating extraordinary
opportunities for yourself.

In the coming days, you will receive details about your admission and next steps to enroll. However
prior to doing anything, we must receive the below listed documents to create an I-20 for you.

To create an I-20, submit the following to the application status portal:

1. I-20/DS-2019 Request Form

2. Passport
A scan or photo of your passport information page.

3. Funding
You will need to show funding for one year of study. The figure is presently set at $48,241 (see
Required Funding and Estimated Expenses). Proof of funding can include personal funds (as
attested by a bank statement) funds from a sponsor (as attested by an affidavit of support),
scholarships, grants-in-aid, Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, fellowships, etc.

By supplying the information above as quickly as possible, you will have the longest window of
opportunity to make the appointment for your student visa.
