Charles the second the son of Charles the first spent his exile in France, he was an admirer of the

buildings and the walls. Charles asked to the architect Christopher wren to rebuild the old insanitary city
and he rebuild it with wide streets and squares and the buildings in neoclassical style. Charles finance the
rebuilding thanks to the France when he was in bad relationship with the parliament. When he died the
restoration of Catholicism was sure for the brother James the second.
