CONTENT
Radware announces the release of DefenseFlow GA version 4.2.0.0. These Release Notes
describe the main new features, new bug fixes, and limitations of this release.

WHAT’S NEW
This section describes the new features and enhancements that DefenseFlow version 4.2.0.0
provides.

Policy Editor
DefenseFlow version 4.2.0.0 continues the enhancements for the Security Operations (SecOps)
application, focusing on the Security Policy Editor – a new, and modern way to create and edit
DefensePro protections from DefenseFlow.
The SecOps application’s main goal is to improve the Security Operator customer experience
and introduce a clear and simple-flow and single pane-of-glass for the AMS solution.

Security Templates Settings
The Security Templates pane provides a clear summary of all Security templates focusing on
the most important parameters. In addition, the Security Templates pane includes the following
new capabilities:
• New Security Policy Templates table
• Divided into the supported protection sections:
o BDoS Protection
o DNS Flood Protection
o Out-of-State Protection
o Security Signatures
o SYN Flood Protection
o Traffic Filters
• Two views per supported protection, Basic and Advanced, the basic view includes the most
common protection configurations and the advanced includes the expert level.
• Use anchors for easy navigation between Security Template protections

Edit Ongoing Protection

DefenseFlow users can leverage the policy editor and edit ongoing operations security
templates and change the DefensePro Security Protection on-the-fly – DefenseFlow will update
the relate DefensePro device or devices with the updated Security Protection configurations
submitted using the Policy Editor.

Enrich DefensePro Events

Starting with DefenseFlow 4.2.0.0, DefensePro detection events are enriched with more
valuable information. This improves the customer experience by providing the latest real-time
attack information, enabling the DefenseFlow user to maximize the attack life cycle
management efficiency.
This information is available for both current and historical events.

The new detection events include the following key information – Attack real time signature,
baseline, attack characteristics and additional info, attack actions and more.

Quality Improvements
DefenseFlow 4.2.0.0 contains several improvements to various mechanisms in the core
product, such as scalability and performance.

This DefenseFlow version is compatible with Radware DefensePro, APSolute Vision, MSSP
Portal, AppWall, FlowDetector and FlowCollector.

OBTAINING AND INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE
This section describes how to obtain and install the software for this version.

Obtaining the Software

1. Go to https://portals.radware.com/Customer/Home/ and log in if prompted.
Note: You must have a username and password before attempting to download a software
update. If you do not have a username and password, go to
https://portals.radware.com/Not-Logged-In/Customer-Registration-Form/ and complete and
submit the form.
2. On the Customer portal home page, do the following:
a. From Downloads, select the Application and Network Security.
b. Select DefenseFlow.
c. Select the product version and platform.
d. Select the Software Downloads tab. Select the platform you want from the table.
3. For the release version and platform you want to update or recover, select the Download
Software icon, and download the relevant software update or recovery files to a server
within your own organization that is accessible using FTP or TFTP.

Obtaining a License
Go to https://portals.radware.com/Customer/Home/ and log in if prompted.
Note: You must have a username and password before attempting to download a software
update. If you do not have a username and password, go to
https://portals.radware.com/Not-Logged-In/Customer-Registration-Form/ and complete and
submit the form.
On the Customer portal home page, do the following:
a. From Tools, select the Virtual Appliance License Generator.
b. Select the item for which to generate license.
c. Click Generate License.

Installing the Software

This release can be installed as an upgrade on top of DefenseFlow version 3.30.x or higher,
time based (Subscription) license is mandatory for using this software.

User Guide.
