READING and WRITING 3 - GROUP WORK GUILDLINES

1. Members:

- There are 4-5 members in each group.

- The leader is chosen by group members.

2. Assignment:

a/ Purpose:

- to review the vocabulary of different topics

- to provide background knowledge on different topics

- to practise reading strategies for specific types of tasks

- to practise writing skills

b/ Due date: as in the schedule

c/ Format: interactive quiz, padlet

d/ Contents:

- interactive reading quiz on assigned topics (one IELTS reading text and 12- 13 questions)

- summary of news article on assigned topics (with source)

- notes of key vocabulary (10 – 12 words with examples)

- personal writing on assigned topics (2 pieces of writing)

- short introduction about the quiz and the padlet (15 minutes)

e/ Submission: post in forum in Moodle (before the lesson starts)

f/ Grading: account for 20% of the mid-term test

- criteria: accurate, detailed, and useful

g/ Support: suggested apps or websites

- Padlet (app): for the vocabulary, summary and personal writing
