He held a number of important assignments in the State in different areas. He worked as
Secretary (Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying). He also worked as District Collector,
Wayanad (1996-97) and Kollam (1997-99) besides working in Department of Health and at
sub-divisional levels in different subdivisions (Trissur and Fort Cochin) during 1991-95.

Central Deputation
While on Central deputation he held important portfolios in the Ministry of Home Affairs (1999-
2004) & Ministry of Commerce (Foreign Trade).

Prior to joining APEDA, he was Additional Director General (Foreign Trade), Directorate General
of Foreign Trade, New Delhi (2011-2016).

During his stint in Directorate General of Foreign Trade, he has been assigned the work related
to formulation of Foreign Trade Policy to enhance transparency, enhance e-governance, greater
trade facilitation, digitization of processes from start to end of the process chain and working
towards the concept of whole of Government of India in the foreign trade governance so as to
achieve larger objective of bringing national interest in focus.

He was also the Member Secretary of the Second Taskforce on Transaction Cost in Exports
which is aimed to evolve a strategy towards reducing transaction cost in terms of specific
problems for export and import.

Rewards :
1. Asia Pacific Council of Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (AFACT), 2013 – Awarded
1st prize in the trade facilitation category of the project of Electronic Bank Realization
Certificate.

2. CSI Nihilent e-Governance Award 2012-13 – Awarded recognition for Electronic Bank
Realization Certificate (e-BRC).

3. Awarded Roorkee University Gold Medal for securing 1st position in the University in the
Applied Geology(1985)
