I’m the student of chemical engineering in well-known university of Pakistan that is Ghulam Ishaq Khan
Institute of Engineering Sciences and technology. Basically a person can be a part of more than one
group. Primary group which is emotionally attached together and sharing their ways of life.

After this we have secondary group. Similarly, I also have this kind of group including me, collogues and
my seniors. I am the event coordinator serving for this group for three years. Basically it is the society in
my university ASM (American society for material engineering). It was founded for students to help
them in learning of managerial skills especially event management, beside this we also taking part in
technical events based on materials sciences.

This group have some core values. All the members should have to follow norms with some written
rules. In case of violation of these rules executive committee have rights to exclude him/her. Dedication
for society, respecting each other, maintain friendly environment, no smoking, seniors should have to
give treats and gifts to juniors and stand when they have to convey their thoughts teach your fellows
and learning so many advanced skills from your seniors and respected faculty members are some unique
cultural elements. So this is one of the formal group with official language English. If you need to be a
part of this group, first of all you have to be the student of GIKI with minimum 13 years of education,
above average student, good record. First you would be select as volunteer and if you successfully
completed all the tasks given by heads then other interview is taken for your induction.

Rules and regulations are very strict most of the member cannot fulfill the requirement of the group, so
nearly more than a dozen member is excluded from the group. Members themselves are very near to
leave the group because this is not only the society but is a kind of family.
