A. Course Description:

This course provides for an in-depth study of the legal provisions relating to Partnerships, Trusts and
Agency. Case laws are also discussed to provide proper understanding of how these laws are applied in the
resolutions of conflicts. These civil law concepts are particularly discussed within the bounds of commercial
dealings.

B. Course Objective/s:

At the end of this course, students are expected to:

• Understand the legal provisions pertaining to Partnerships, Trusts and Agency.


• Familiarize the application of different case laws in each set of facts.
• Learn the different legal relationship of the parties in a Partnership as a medium of business
transactions.
• Learn the intricacies of the law on agency in business media.
• Learn the sufficiency of the laws on Partnerships, Trusts and Agency in governing commercial and
civil relationships.
• Learn how the common law concept of Trust is applied in the Philippine Setting.
• Submit a research paper on a particular provision of law within the coverage of this course
identifying the necessity, applicability and potential issue as it is applied in modern day
transactions.

C. Course Policies:

• Instructions and updates will be posted via Google Classroom. Each student is expected to have a
gmail account.
• Online discussions will be done through ZOOM cloud meetings or Google Meet. The instructor will
send via Google Classroom the corresponding meeting IDs and passwords at the start of the week.
• Questions will be posted via Google Classroom every week to serve as guides for online
discussions.

• Online discussions will be done at least 2 hours per week. Students are expected to attend the
online discussion fully prepared.
• Recitations will be graded.

• Online discussion will be conducted at least 2 hours a week to confirm students’


understanding of topics in the Outline. Cases will also be discussed via online.
• At the end of the coverage, written examination will be conducted to assess students learning.
• Assessment will be sent via students’ email ad.
• Research paper is a requirement for the completion of the course
o Groups of 4.
o Make a comment/research paper on a particular provision of law within the course
outline. Identify its applicability, necessity and probable issues as applied in modern
day commercial transactions.
o Observe proper referencing.
o Paper should not be more than 25 pages.
o Each group will report to the instructor for 20 mins (inclusive of Q&A)
