Topic: Many people think there is an increase of antisocial behavior and a lack

of respect to others. What do you think are the causes of this and how to
improve this situation?

It is true that antisocial and disrespectful behavior in society has been on the rise
recently. This trend might be attributed to problems in one’s life, but a joint
effort by both governments and families can reverse the trend.
Fundamentally, personal psychological disorders and low self-esteem are some
of the factors that can contribute greatly to an inconsiderate behavior. Initially,
pressure from daily routine such as work overload or family conflicts could lead
to prolonged feeling of exhaustion and depression. This potentially provokes
bitterness and frustration, which might subsequently be vented on others. In
addition, low self-esteem which usually results from domestic problems or
school bullying is another cause. Indeed, individuals with a history of being
neglected by their parents or bullied by their friends tend to be insecure,
unconfident and have little to no self-respect. As a consequence, these
individuals are prone to be introverted and refrain from communities.

Subsequently, there has raised a question of how human beings should react to
this challenge in order to mitigate its adverse impacts. An adjustment should be
taken into consideration is an appropriate family education. Apparently, an early
exposure to a decent educational environment, especially home schooling, might
possibly equip an individual with adequate social schema as well as code of
conduct. These pieces of knowledge, hence, somehow guide a person to have an
acceptable set of behaviors. Additionally, it should be the local authority’s
responsibility to impose and enforce policies which encourage well-behaved
individuals and repel the invasion of countercultural lifestyle. If a role model of
an upright citizen is largely propagated and rewarded, the public awareness of
behaving considerately will be raised. Besides, rudeness and misbehaviors may
be gradually eliminated from a civilized society.

It boils down to a conclusion that the tendency of misbehaviors and disrespects

mainly stems from mental problems and a lack of self-respect. Yet, this negative
development can be addressed by a decent education along with the involvement
of government.
