It goes without saying that environmental issues have always been a topic of interest.

However, it is argued that it is the government who should be accountable for the protection
not the individuals provokes a mixed reaction among all those who are concerned about the
environment. Personally, I strongly believe that environmental conservation is the common
responsibility.
There are many compelling reasons why the government should take action. Initially,
government policies lie behind the wastage of resources due to tax incentives and subsidies
that guarantee large profits to private investors. Therefore, only the government can stop
passing these destructive policies. In addition to this, only the government and large
companies have equipment power to fund environmental campaigns and coordinate efforts.
Not to mention only the government bans laws about massive land clearing and fine
individuals who don’t obey the rule.
Besides, individuals also can join hands in protecting the environment. At first, citizens
played a critical role in pushing their governments to act and exerting pressure on putting the
government under pressure to act. It is borne in mind that every single individual can help
preserve the environment just by doing very small things. The most obvious things we can do
such as turning off the light whenever not used, reduce reuse and recycle. Last but not least,
people can raise awareness about the importance of the environment among the youngsters.
All in all, environmental problems can only be solved through the combined efforts of the
government and each individual.
