Floating License Installer Document

This document describes how to configure a computer running a TechnoSoft, AML

based, application so it can access a license installed on a separate License
Manager Computer. This can be on your network or over the Internet.

Installing the license requires two steps for a client computer:

1. Copy the server certificate file from the License Manager computer to all of
the client machines running the application.
1.1. This file holds the network location of the License Manager computer.
2. Run the floating license installer (Floating-license-installer.exe) on all of the
client machines running the application.
2.1. This step sets an evironment variable called TECHNSFT_LICENSE_FILE.

Step 1. Copy the server certificate file:

On the license server machine, go to the license manager installation folder and
copy the file “server-license-certificate.txt” to every client machine running the
application. The license manager default installation folder can be:

On a 32-bit machine:
“C:\Program Files\Technosoft\AML-Floating-License-Manager-7”
On a 64-bit-machine:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Technosoft\AML-Floating-License-Manager-7”
Step 2. Run the floating license installer: (Floating-license-installer.exe)

On every client machine running the application, run the license installer
(Floating-license-installer.exe) and select the “server-license-certificate.txt”. Hit
next until the installation finishes.

This step requires that you reboot your client machine so that the Windows
environment gets refreshed with the updated TECHNSFT_LICENSE_FILE
environment variable setting.

If the license does not work properly, then please send an email to
customer_support@technosoft.com
(The following is just a sample “server-license-certificate.txt” file path available on the client
computer.)
