HOW WILL

You Deal
WITH IT?
OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS
Life of an OFW

Overseas Filipino Workers are the most industrious people that we know, besides they

are also a hero because they are fighting for the future of their children and they have the

strength to establish the need of their families. But despite these good comments about

them, hardships and pain are inevitable in their experiences. That’s why if I were an OFW

that will provide for the needs of my children, I will certainly feel a heartache, a heartache

that will never leave me in my everyday life. The beautiful sceneries of the country I went to

cannot pull out my longingness for the bright smiles of my family and children. I may also

experience the will of giving up or just dropping everything and just going back home. The

enormous struggles I will encounter will explain that being an OFW is not just all about

glitters and can easily provide money for my family way back to the Philippines.

That being the case, I will make sure to not miss any available minutes or even

seconds that I have to spend time with them. But if our schedules are extremely tight, I can

make friends with other OFWs in the country I went to. It may surely not relieve the pain that

I am experiencing but without a doubt, it can help ease it. It will help since all of us are

experiencing the same grief and longingness, our connection that will develop will

undeniably make us at peace even in a short moment of time. Yet, I will still love my family

and children unconditionally and will take them as an inspiration to pass these trials in my

life.
