One of the famous words of Dr. Jose P. Rizal is that "the youth is the hope of our future".

As a
youth, I believed that we must continuously pay tribute to the heroes, especially Rizal, who sacrificed
and hand over his life for our country. And the best way to pay tribute is to study the life, including his
works and writings, so that we can fully understand and get to know more about his life experiences,
from his early childhood to his execution that awakens the revolutionary mind of Filipino during the
Spanish Colonization. It is essential to study the Life and Works of Rizal, as it is mandated by the Law,
which is known as The Rizal Law or Republic Act No. 1425, at the same time it brings a lot of realizations
for each individual where it is relevant in present time.

The Rizal Law provides 3 goals which needs to accomplish upon studying of Rizal. First, to
rededicate the lives of youth to the ideals of freedom and nationalism, for which our heroes lived and
died. As it is obligated to study his life, youth will have a wider and more profound knowledge and
would give them a better vision about the country's experiences during Spanish Era. Second, to pay
tribute to our national hero for devoting his life and works in shaping the Filipino character. This means
that through learning and studying about him, we can appreciate and pay respect to Rizal, including his
peers and other revolutionist in 19th Century. Lastly, to gain an inspiring source of patriotism through
the study of Rizal’s life, works, and writings. We, in the new generation, we can learn and get inspired,
through his writings of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, on how we can also be devoted for our
country and how we can also contribute for the betterment of the society. Through the implementation
of the law, it brings the nation more closely to the history in which we may be able to understand how
important the unity of Filipino to find ways and solutions to alleviate the political and social problems in
present time, and how to maintain the independence we are enjoying today.
