 INTRODUCTION
1. Reason for choosing the topic:
Over the last decade or so, English has become the most extensively used
language of worldwide communication and in a variety of sectors. In order to
learn and comprehend English well, it is quite challenging. And in the language,
there are not only diverse vocabulary but also many different word forms and
with their own characteristics. So, we must learn many new words and discover
new ways to make new words, especially as life grows more complicated and
many new objects are invented, necessitating the creation of additional new
words to identify these new things. As a result, individuals discovered new
methods to compose words. Compounding is the most popular of these methods
such as Compound nouns, compound verbs, compound adverbs, and compound
adjectives can be formed through compounding. And I chose "A study on
compounds adjective in English" as the topic for my research with the aim that
learners will learn more about the usage of compound adjectives in everyday
life.
2. Research purposes:
- Provide learners some characteristics, the making form, structure
classification, and other things of compound adjectives in order to facilitate
the effective use of these compound adjectives.
- To help us understand the importance of compound adjectives in English as
well as distinguish compound adjectives from other words.
3. Research object:
Compound adjectives in English.
4. Research scopes:
The curriculum of the subject Morphology – Compound adjectives. My study
paper is only focused on compound adjectives analysis in English and related
fields as well as discussing some mistakes when using and how to fix them.
