The poet's tone in Sonnet 12 is intellectual. He uses imagery from nature to depict the

impacts of time in the first two quatrains. The poet adopts a matter-of-fact tone concerning the

young man's mortality in the third quatrain. The poem concludes on a relatively upbeat note. In

sonnet 60, this sonnet tries to explain the nature of time as it passes us by and as it affects our

lives.The tone is gloomy and depressing. The speaker is referring to the circle of life, which

includes death and the birth of new life.As the speaker understands his impending demise,

Shakespeare develops a gloomy and mournful tone in Sonnet 73. The speaker speaks to his

sweetheart, comparing his age to Autumn, dusk, and the waning glow of a fire.

The theme of sonnet 12 is Within the Fair Youth series, there is a procreation sonnet.

The author moves through a variety of imagery of mortality throughout the sonnet, including a

clock, a withering flower, a barren tree, and autumn, among others. The theme of sonnet 60 is

the power of time to take life from even the most beautiful and the power of writing to

fight back. The theme of sonnet 73 is to love more. If you take Sonnet 73 on the whole,

it's a poem about how death makes us love all the more, because we know that love will

one day be gone.
