Flash flooding possible in Los Angeles area as storms roll in

In the low elevations of central and southern California, beneficial rain will continue to fall this week. At times, the rain may be
heavy enough to produce flash flooding, especially in and around the Los Angeles area.

The widespread drought plaguing California saw a massive improvement this week as
multiple rounds of rain and snow targeted the Golden State.

Last week, about 79% of California was in "extreme drought," the second-worst category on
the U.S. Drought Monitor, while about 23% of the state was in "exceptional drought," the
worst category on the scale of drought severity.
