WHAT GLOBAL TRADE DEALS ARE REALLY ABOUT (HINT: IT'S NOT TRADE)

The video from TEDxMidAtlantic by Haley Edwards that talk about trade is one of
the many videos that provide enlightenment when we talk about trade. When we say
trade, one thing that comes to our mind is that import and exporting goods or services.
But what Ms. Haley says is that global trading talks about the rules we want to abide
with. The world we have now is the world we choose to create, that is why when talking
about trade, we talk about rules.

There is no trade if there is no exchanging happened between two parties. So if

we can’t establish or make rules, it can cause a major conflict that may lead to what the
world is way back 1914. Trading is not importing or exporting, but respecting and
abiding to what are the countries want for their country. That is why before making a
trade we should learn what to do and what is not. Ms. Edwards just enlighten us to what
we are supposed to be focusing. What we really need or want our world to become.
Just like what Ms. Edwards says “the rules that we pass is the rules of the game”. So, if
want to talk or make trade, we should first talk about the rules.
