A Feasibility Study on the Privately Utilized Vehicles in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

Introduction:

The possession and usage of a private vehicle is essential for people in general because
it provides the opportunity for personal control and autonomy for a safer and more convenient
mode of travelling. Given the present pandemic situation in the community of Tuguegarao City
where in the operation of public transportations such as tricycles and kalesa were limited along
with the increase in fare, it is but more advantageous to own a private vehicle. The aim of this
study is to provide substantial and timely data about different kinds of vehicles which are
motorcycles, electronic bikes and bicycles. The factors of criterion for the vehicles under study
are focused on its economic aspects wherein it consists of the vehicle’s price, monthly or yearly
maintenance of the vehicle’s components, its fuel or power consumption and the vehicle’s
availability in the community. The study will also consider the people’s preferences in terms of
its practicality and its situational advantages and disadvantages. The results of this study will be
beneficial for the commuting individuals especially those who belong in the middle class or
lower, who are planning on purchasing their private service vehicle, to choose the most
appropriate vehicle for them.
