CULTUTRE AND DESTINY

Culture and dentistry are compatible issues. Fluent speech making, speaking of
different of different languages and dialects that are aided with the presence of the
teeth in the mouth is culturally bounded. Dentistry is perceived to be culturally
imbibed, when an adage that says “The whiteness of the teeth is the beauty of the
Elephant”
(A Yoruba translation eyinfunfunleso Erin). Is viewed critically. Culture habors
othere aspects of beauty such as wearing of decent designed clothes that suit the
weather, occasions, recreation in time and space, plaiting and barbing of hair of
different pattern, Eating of foods and fruits that build and nourish the body for
contuinty of life and existence of human race. All this ecompases the word
“Beauty” considering the afore mention adage in the reverse “Dirty teeth or brown
teeth brings about the ugliness of an Elephant” it is a known facts that the
Elephants is an ugly animal of it kind, considering the size, the body built, texture
of the skin (thick rough and tough) among many other qualities but the whiteness
of the teethof an Elephant brings it out and classify it as been beautiful among all
other animals.
Linking this to human race, whatever is put on in terms dressing, patterns of hair
do well groomed body, shinny skin but with dirty, uncare for teeth, smelling mouth
(drifted and Tittled teeth) stained teeth disease gum etc.
