1. Esport is not sport because it does not have characteristics of

sports in terminological reasoning. A sport often has
characteristics of requiring physical exertions, having health
benefits etc. Esports are indeed recent inventions. Categorization
in a terminological sense prevents Esports from being fit into the
orthodox forms of sports.
2. Even if one assumes that chess which does not require
physical exertion is considered as a sport, it is completely false
since chess is only considered as a “strategy board game” in
terminological standardisation.
3. Esport apologetics try to equate Esports with the traditional
sports like football. In reality, Esports are too far from being
considered as equally characterised with other “sports”.
4. Since Esports apologetics want to cross the border which is the
equation with chess, one can’t even equate Esports which is not
in a category of logical or strategical game, with chess which
requires a significant strategy.
5. For these reasons, Esports are just recent inventions and can’t
even be considered as some unorthodox form of sport. But rather,
Esports are only online games.
