The detail analysis of Population Census 2011 published by Govt. of
India for Uttarakhand state reveal that population of Uttarakhand
has increased by 18.81% in this decade compared (2001-2011) to
past decade (1991-2001).
The density of Uttarakhand state in the current decade is 488 per
Sq mile.
Uttarakhand is an State of India with population of Approximate
1.01 Crores.
The population of Uttarakhand state is 10,086,292.The density of
Uttarakhand state is 189 per Sq Km.
Uttarakhand State is spread over 53,483 Sq Km.
Conclusion
The density of population according to the 2011 census is
189 persons per square kilometre, higher than the 2001
census figure of 150. District-wise, there is enormous
variation in the density of population with Haridwar, US
Nagar and Dehradun having a high density of 817, 648, and
550 persons per square km respectively; while on the other
hand there are districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli and
Pithoragarh the population density is quite low with average
of 41, 49, and 69 persons per square km.
