Do you think Covid19 has created more solidarity in American culture or more
divisiveness?
I believe that this deadly virus Covid19 has created more solidarity in American culture than
divisiveness. It is the need of the time to maintain a social distance but it doesn’t create
divisiveness. Apparently, we all are maintaining a distance but actually we are together
standing against the disease. People are taking precautions and also organizing solidary
sessions to promote health care and awareness programs. However, the president of America
has labeled Covid 19 as the “Chinese virus”. It created a sense of racism and other problems
in the beginning but after the outbreak in other countries and especially in America they
realized how serious this matter is and how many horribly people are dying. Most of the
Americans are united by helping others with food supplies, hand sanitizers and soaps. Some
of the Americans are acting selfish by hoarding food and leaving nothings for the senior
The marketers must pay attention towards the Asian Americans as the population of these
America. These Asian American are educated and they acquire characteristics that are
beneficial. “Higher growth, higher education and higher income make Asian American a
desirable market”(pg. 344). These Asian Americans belong to different countries of Asia
and have different culture. It is quite difficult to reach this Asian Americans and
according to some publications Asian American is the most difficult ethnic group to
reach. They have a broad group and are different in so many ways. It has subcategories
that are different and thus makes it difficult to reach. Having differences and being
difficult to reach, this ethnic group is most desirable based on its education, growth, and
income. So, it will be beneficial for the marketers to pay attention to the Asian
Americans.
