Based on your project answer these points below,

1. How do you find the Bottom Up, Top Down, and Interactive activation analysis?

2. Explain briefly the ways to apply components of Bottom Up, Top Down, and Interactive
activation. Share a case as example of its.

3. How to show the transitions between the types of those analyzes? Give 2 examples.

Based on the theoretical description explain to the points here,

4. A psycholinguistics explanation to find out language problems. Support your

explanations by using 2 examples.

5. The position of reading errors comes from the activation and competition in reading.
Give an example to show the differences between them (the activation and competition).

Answer

4. here are two main types of language problem:

Expressive language problem: People have trouble getting their message across when they talk.
They often struggle to put words together into sentences that make sense.

Receptive language problem: People struggle to get the meaning of what others are saying.
Because of this, they often respond in ways that don’t make sense.

5. But the competition can go wrong if one of the competing words has a high resting level of
activation (because it’s frequent) or has been getting a lot of top-down activation because it’s
expected for semantic or syntactic reasons (like house in the context of the word mortgage or in
the phrase Come on over to my). It won’t take much additional acti- vation from the “bottom” to
bring such a predictable word from its resting level to its firing threshold level. So that’s one
important source of reading errors.

example activation : (like house in the context of the word mortgage or in the phrase Come on
over to my)

example competition : (there’s only room for one of us in this town, mister)
