Issue to Consider (three of them)

Indian food preparation versus Western food preparation.

Indian Food - Through many different cultures and traditions that came and went from the India dropped a lot of
their culture and tradition which affected the Indian cuisine.

Food from North part of India is different with South India as well.

1. Spice. Southern Indian foods are much spicier than Northern foods.

2. Sauces. Sauce is thicker in the North, thinner in the South. Bread-eating Northerners need thicker sauces
to scoop up with their bread, which would become soggy with wetter sauce. Southerners use a thinner
sauce over rice, which stays relatively firm when absorbing liquid.
3. Influences. Northern cuisine is heavily influenced by Arabs and Persians, while Southern food is influenced
by Dravidians.

Western food - Meat is the staple ingredient that western people are fond to eat and are mostly omnivore in
nature whereas Indian people are vegetarian. You will find that very low amount of spices are added up in the
recipes and that is how western people love it. As for the cooking ingredient, olive oil is mostly used to make the
dish and bread is the common wheat item that is supplemented as an appetizer.

Difference

 Values and customs that might affect opinions about microwave ovens.

As Economy in INDIA has been developing, people tend to follow modern way of cooking than stick with traditional
cooking style. That is the reason why people in rural areas and young generation tend to buy Microwave ovens.
Indian people start believing that using oven saves cooking time, and be able to do cook other foods at the same
time.
However some people still believe that using microwave would not keep original taste of food. Some others afraid
the nutritious value of food will get lost by using microwave

Therefore marketing strategy must focus on showing benefits of using microwave and promote market-oriented
product.

 The effects of competition in the market.

There are many companies in India to produce and sell microwave oven. The kitchen appliances market seems
to be very promising as extensive growth in India economy. Most of the competitors like Samsung, LG,
and Bajaj etc. use Near Infra-Red (NIR) technology. They also use the Ultra-moist in the some of their
product lines but only for the high-end products. We intend to provide this technology in all of our
product lines regardless the price. The use of Ultra-moist instead of Near Infra-Red (NIR) technology has
some benefits, which are as follows-  The presence of steam can cause interference in the functions of
NIR microwave ovens but it do not effect Ultra-moist ovens.  The Ultra-moist ovens have IP65
Enclosures. Which means it is protected from dirt, oil and other non-corrosive materials. It is also
protected from enclosed equipment and water up to water projected by a nozzle against enclosure from
any direction.  The Ultra-moist ovens are unaffected by ambient lighting or natural lighting. Whereas
NIR ovens require shielding from ambient lighting. These advantages will help White Appliances to
penetrate the market.
