Aside from the benefits to customers, there are several disadvantages to this type of food.

First, while
organic food is grown without the use of chemicals or fertilizers, the process is considered time-
consuming. Second, money is sacrificed for quality. In other words, the cost of high-quality items may be
too expensive for consumers with low or average incomes. Third, areas, where organic food is permitted
for commerce, are largely concentrated in major cities which leads to the shortage of organic goods in
some locations. Also some areas may not have a diverse selection of organic foods. That means, even if
some individuals may afford to buy organic products, they may be unable to obtain the organic foods of
their choice due to a lack of organic foods in some areas.
