Mr. Lovejoy is currently in his 12th year of


teaching.
Schools Taught At
Mr. Lovejoy has taught at three schools. In order he has worked at
Garfield Park Academy which is a Behavioral School. Then for his first
school in public education Mr. Lovejoy taught at Burlington Township
High School in New Jersey. He currently teaches at Great Neck Middle
School in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Attended Schools and Degrees Earned
Mr. Lovjoy has attended multiple schools earning a diverse collection of
degrees. He started his education at the University of Delaware earning a
degree in History and Education. Next he earned his Masters in teaching at
the College of New Jersey. He is currently enrolled at Old Dominion
University earning his Masters in Educational Leadership Studies.
Their Family
Mr. Lovejoy has been married for seven years. Him and his
wife currently have one child who is an 18 month-old boy.
Awards Won as a Teacher
Mr. Lovejoy has earned an impressive amount of hardware in his young
teaching career. He won the best teacher award in Burlington County, New
Jersey in 2015. Then throughout 2018-2020 he earned the Distinguished
Teacher Award. During this time period he would also win the Teacher of the
Year Award in 2019. He also earned national status as a AVID National
Demonstrator.
Outside Commitments
The biggest commitments Mr. Lovejoy
has are his wife and child. A large
commitment is being a good father
and husband at home. He is also a
Football and Baseball coach.
Favorite Part about Teaching
Mr. Lovejoy truly loves the relationship aspect of
teaching. Students and teachers learn a lot from
each other which is one of the best parts of the
profession. He says having an impact on the next
generation of leaders is his favorite part.
Least Favorite about Teaching
Mr. Lovejoy believes being a teacher
can cause one to become a Helicopter
parent on their kids education and
extra curriculars within their
school.
