Appendix: Transcribe of your interview

Q1: How did the idea for your business come about?
 I go to the gym on a regular basis and I always thought that companies likes adidas, puma
and nike are expensive in Nepal, so one day I thought that some people cannot afford to
wear such brands and even if they buy these products from another retail shop there is
lack of quality so that’s why I came up with the concept to make a product which is
cheap and has good quality as well.
Q2: How did you raise funding for your business?
 Well I came up with the idea to open my own business but there was also problems with
funding. I had savings but it was not enough so I asked my family for help and they
happily supported me and lend me some money.
Q3: How do you market your business and which strategy has been successful?
 Well in Nepal the popularity of Instagram is raising and celebrities have also a good fan
following in instagram, So I created my own instagram account where I uploaded my
products which is seen by my followers. One of the strategies I use is hire famous
celebrity athletes in instagram which have many fan followings for example like Sushant
Pradhan and Tyson Moktan and endorse my products. Another strategy I use is open up
pop stores in various gym’s in Kathmandu for a limited period of time.
Q4: How do you build a successful customer base?
 Firstly to create a successful customer base there should be good service quality and good
quality products. Our business is based online so what can I do is deliver the products on
time, many of the customers also messages us about the products I reply them
professionally and quickly. I also teach my staffs to properly talk to the customers
because first impression is the last impression. Our team also focuses on improving the
quality of our products on a regular basis so because of these reasons I have created a
successful customer base.
Q5: Why is innovation in your product important in terms of design and quality?
 First of all people tend to be bored by the same designs and products, they keep wanting
more new products, so I kept that in mind and changed my graphics and design in my
products by also taking inspiration from other brands.
Q6: What other products have you introduced to the market?
 When we first opened the business we only used to sell t-shirts in the market as time
passed away we made water bottles, made track suites we keep coming up with new ideas
and we still are going to introduces new products in the market. Because if we continue
to sell the same products people will get bored and we get bored also.
Q7: What are your major accomplishments?
 I think I don’t have any accomplishments yet because we are still relatively a new
company which has been on a market for 15 to 16 months. We still have many things to
do because we are on infant stages of the business, we have still many things to learn.
Q8: Were there any difficulties you overcame in achieving these accomplishments?
 In the market there are many competitors which gives us a difficult time because they
also introduces good quality of products in the market and also have a very competitive
price range. Retaining of staff is also very difficult for me.
Q9: What are the most important decisions you make as a leader for your business?
 Firstly for me the most important thing is to develop a good team that is hardworking and
share the same vision as I do. For me marketing strategy is a must for a business to be
successful but I cannot come up with strategy myself there should be also involvement of
the employees as well. I want to reach my goal, and vision for the business through my
people. That are the important decisions I make as a leader
Q10: Which is the most important to your organization- mission, wealth or vision?
 For me mission, wealth and vision all three of them are important for my organization.
My mission is that to provide customers reasonable and good quality of products and
have a sense of a premium product. I think wealth is also important for me because I
invested my time and money for my business and I think it is right that I want something
in return from my business and because of wealth I also need to pay salaries for my staff
members, and for my brand ambassador as well. Now talking about my vision it is
important for me because with my vision the business organization can continue to move
forward. If there is no vision my organization will not work so that’s why all three factors
are important for me.
