Grade 10 ASC Summer Assignment

Summer Planning
During the summer preceding Grade 10, your assignment is readto create a plan for committing to three different ASC
experiences, each representing one strand of ASC (activity, service & creativity). This plan should be uploaded on
ManageBac once your account is activated. (see video tutorial) Your plan takes effect as soon as school starts.

1. Brainstorm for ideas

 Activities that you’ve always been interested in but never really done.
 Skills that you master and can coach someone else on
 Technical skills that prepare you for the career you hope for
 Hobbies that you can employ to support your favorite community cause

2. Research (Internet, field-related friends)

 How can I practice this activity? (Take classes, join a group, etc.)
 Which places offer this activity?
 Who could coach me or supervise my work?
 Whom can I join forces with? (other students, initiative, organization)
 What times would be available?

Tip: Research should not be hypothetical, but rather make your brainstorming ideas a reality

3. Make a decision (Discuss with family, consider schedule and convenience, set the calendar)

4. Log In to ManageBac
 Use your @hayahacademy.com email as the ManageBac username & reset your password
 After logging in, start creating your plan by adding one experience at a time.
