NARRATIVE REPORT DAY 2

On the second day of the webinar, they talked about food safety, food contamination, and food
contact surfaces. As food service management learners, it is our responsibility to understand and know
about appropriate food safety. It is critical to recognize food safety dangers since some foods are more
vulnerable to microbial contamination than others and can be classified as 'high-risk' foods. Food safety
efforts are focused on these foods.
Food safety refers to procedures for preparing, handling, and storing food that are designed to
avoid foodborne sickness and harm. To reduce these hazards and protect customers, safe food handling
methods and procedures are applied at every stage of the food production life cycle. Wherever food items
are obtained, made, prepared, stored, or marketed, food processing safety is observed. Food safety, in this
view, is a holistic approach to cleanliness and responsibility that encompasses all aspects of the global
food sector. That is why we must understand the significance of food safety in order to avoid food
contamination, which occurs when you are unable to handle food properly. It occurs when raw meat
fluids or germs from filthy items come into contact with cooked or ready-to-eat meals. You may
dramatically lower your risk of food poisoning by following good cleanliness and food handling
procedures. Cleaning and sanitizing food contact surfaces to eliminate cross contamination is one of the
most critical procedures in preventing foodborne disease. Bacteria can spread to deadly levels if food
contact surfaces are not cleaned correctly.
Any surface that comes into contact with food, such as knives, stockpots, and chopping boards, is
considered a food contact surface. To avoid such events in the workplace, you must follow or be aware of
correct food safety procedures and do's and don'ts.
To summarize, food to eat is one of the most fundamental human needs. As a result, there should
be no such situation that might result in major health problems in order to preserve consumer rights.
