Question 1: Reaction: CH4(g) + 2H2O (g) = CO2(g) + 4H2 (g)

a. Calculate o298, So298, Go298 of this reaction.

b. At which temperature the reaction will change from spontaneous to non-spontaneous or
reverse?
Knew heat of formation at 25oC (kcal/mol) of CH4, H2O and CO2 are -17,89; -57,80; and -94,10,
respectively. Standard entropy at 25oC (cal/mol.K) of CH4, H2O,CO2 and H2 are 45,50; 45,13;
51,10 and 31,21, respectively.
Question 2: There is the reversible reaction S (s) + O2 (g)/  SO2 (g). At 25oC, initial
concentration of oxygen is 1M, SO2 is 0.6M. Knew that at the equilibrium state, the
concentration of Oxygen is 0.8M. Calculate KP and KC of this reaction. At equilibrium, adding
0.2 M of oxygen and 0.4M of SO 2, pls calculate concentration of oxygen and SO 2 when the
system reaches new equilibrium at 25oC.

Question 3: A 1.00 L concentrated KOH solution contains 655 g KOH in water. The solution
density is 1.456 g/mL. Calculate the molality (m), mole fraction (X) and mass percentage %) of
this solution.
Question 4: The vapor pressure of a solution containing 53.6 g glycerin (C 3H8O3, 92.10 g/mol
nonvolatile, covalent compound) in 133.7 g ethanol (C2H5OH, 46.07 g/mol) is 113 torr at 40°C.
Calculate the vapor pressure of pure ethanol at 40°C. Assume ideal behavior.
