In this article The Art of Imitation: How to Use Outlines to Teach Rhetorical Prosody and
Structure gives me an idea that the word imitation is not a bad thing. For me imitation brings
an aspect of duplicating or copying what others are doing or creating. Imitation can be
advantageous because it allows learner to gain more intonational and rhythmic experience
from other people.

Well for me in the Philippines which is divided with many dialects L1 or mother tongue greatly
affects the communication of the citizen, from speaking to its own dialect from a transition of
learning an international language it influence us to imitate so that we can adjust and talk like
them . English is considered as second language of my country this language came from
another place but we have to study from primary to tertiary but rhetorical prosody is not the
focus of it. This article enlighten me the importance and advantages of outlining for it raises
more accumulative knowledge about rhetorical prosody.

The teaching method of outlining is an aid for imitation which provides ideas to easily
communicate and understand second language. Prosody as one of the important element of
rhetoric, should be taught well so that the people who is using English as a second language will
talk and speak fluently.
