New horizon

It was peaceful in the dark, no sound or light, just the dark and I. If only it could last, I was forced
awake by the ever present reminder that I was alive, it slow beeps did nothing but aggravate. The
overpowering smell of antiseptic assaulted my nose, I was aware of the tape on the back of my hand,
confining me to the bed.

The sterile white, was boring and dull, it only severed to make the hospital look like an mental
facility, I’d rather be in the dark then here. I want to go home. My thought of self pity where
interrupted by the all to familiar squick of Dr Hindsberg’s shoes. As they turned the corner they new
what was to follow.

Dr Hindsberg’s informed me I had a visitor, who? My mom always visited every other day, she visited
yesterday, so who. My exited expression dropped like and anchor from a ship. The level of audacity,
he had to show his face, his very punchable face. Dr Hindsberg’s left as he entered, I knew the words
about to escape his lips, and wasn’t interested.

“Do you blame yourself?” I asked not wanting to waist my time, “what?” He asked looking like I had
asked him algebra. “It’s quite common in theses situations to feel some sort of guilt.” Finishing this
sentence not wanting to continue to waste my time. “What situation” his face fell as the fords
escaped his lips knowing it was his fault. “The accident, where my body fell like you grade.” I was
livid but couldn’t let him know that. “Your only here because you need me to do your homework,
without me you fail, without me you don’t get to stay on the team....”

“So tell me why should I help you?” I finished my rant, his face was twisted trying to find a reason for
all he put me threw. A small “I’m sorry” was all he could come up with. “Your not sorry because you
hurt me, your sorry cause there is finally a consensus to your actions!” I was shouting not caring who
herd.

“Please leave them alone, and don’t try to fix anything. You’ve done enough damage.” This time it
was Dr Hindsberg’s voice, they both left and I when back into the dark, finally peace.

I looked forward to a new day a new Horizon
