Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
On this first day of the year, we honour The Blessed Virgin
Mary, Mother of God. This Solemnity is a suitable time for us
to learn from Mary to follow God, to listen to Him and to be
perseverant in our particular calling. If we are wondering how
to persevere on our particular path, perhaps a story can help
us to grasp that idea:
One man had a great desire to please God. He prayed day and
night and once he heard the voice from above saying: “I want
you to go and push that large stone.”
The man woke up and was so inspired. He ran to find the stone
and started pushing it. He pushed and pushed, but nothing
happened. He kept pushing the rock all day long.
The next day he did the same, but the stone did not move at
all. For three months the man kept pushing the huge boulder.
Finally, he got tired and stopped pushing.
That night he had another dream, and he heard the voice
saying: “Why did you stop pushing the stone?”
“Nothing happened and the boulder is still there,” answered
the man.
“Nothing happened? Look at you! You have become so much
more focused and stronger. You built up your muscles. You are
a changed man now! Pushing has transformed you! Besides, I
did not tell you to move the stone. I just told you to push it.
When the time comes, I’ll move it Myself!”
Mary went through many difficult times in her life, from the
Annunciation, to having to move to Bethlehem, to having to
escape to Egypt, to see her son whipped and crowned with
thorns, and nailed to a cross and die. But she continued on
moving forward.
Like Mary, bear all hardships with your eyes fixed on God.
When the time comes, your deliverance will be from the Lord.

Eucharistic Adoration. Friday and Saturday Adoration
will resume in the Chapel effective December 10. See the
posters in the church for information on how to register to
be an adorer. Please note that our last day of Adoration
will be Thursday December 23. We will resume on
Thursday January 6.

Healing Corner
O God, the beginning and the end of all things, Who are
always the same, and Whose years fail not, we now, at the
close of another year, kneel in adoration before You, and
offer You our deepest thanks for the fatherly care with which
You have watched over us during the past, for the many
times You have protected us from evils of soul and body, and
for the numberless blessings, both temporal and spiritual,
which You have showered upon us. May it please You to
accept the homage of our grateful hearts which we offer You
(Catholic TV) in union with the infinite thanksgiving of Your divine Son, our
Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

SYNOD DIOCESAN PHASE – UPDATES
Starting January 2022 to May 2022, we will begin the
consultation process at the Diocesan and pastoral zone levels,
followed by gatherings in parishes, religious communities, lay
associations, institutions, and opportunity for online
participation.
How do I participate?
- Pastoral Zone consultations will include participants from all
parish lay leadership and pastors.
- Parish and Community consultations will gather all
members of Christ’s faithful, particularly those at the
margins or who feel excluded.
- Information will be provided through parish websites and
bulletins in February 2022.
- Those who cannot participate in local gatherings will be
able to contribute via online platform.
