THE WHATS, WHYS, AND HOWS OF REJECTIPN

Sometimes a child’s first experience with

heartache is caused by the two people that created them.
Unfortunately, not all children are blessed with parents
who are excited about their entrance into the world.
Some children are made to feel as though they are burdens or
results of a bad decision that a parent has made,
causing the parents to disconnect from the child emotionally.

There is a growing body of evidence for the notion that

prenatal experiences can have a significant influence
on an individual’s psychology later in life.
In her book “Womb Prints”, Findeisen1 presents
over 39 individual case studies, from her
40 years of therapy practice, in which the cause
of psychological disorder could be directly traced
back to specific prenatal experiences.

A study by Davis & Sandman2 of 178 mother-child

pairs showed that both maternal stress
hormone and maternal anxieties are important predictors
for anxiety in children at a young age and their propensity
to mental illness. Moreover, Saleh & Kohan3 point out that
aternal-fetal attachment plays a crucial role in the current
living condition of people. Costa et al.,4 present the case
studies of 169 individual pregnant women, showing that prenatal
maternal stress is linked to physical and mental health problems
of their offspring.

Your parents carry a great deal of authority in how they receive

the news of your conception and birth.
The mindsets they carry and the words they
communicate have a of lot of influence over your
life, even when in the womb.

When a pregnancy is unexpected, fear often comes flooding into the picture.
In response, many parents declare verbally or silently in their hearts,
“I did not want another child.” They may even say,
“I do not want this child.”
