"THE FILIPINO IS NOT WORTH DYING FOR"

(SPEECH)

To our delegates;

To our students, teachers, and to all the staff;

To our Parents and Guardians;

To the youth;

To our future defenders and to the next generations;

Many years ago, our ancestors fight for the freedom, democracy, and for the future of the Philippines
and it's people, but in this status quo we have, Is the Filipino worth dying for? Does the Filipino deserves
our voice to reach for the betterment of our country? Do we have to wait for someone to die? Or do we
really have to die for the Filipino?

Before I write this speech I asked some of my friends if they are willing to die for the Filipino people,
and surprisingly they said "No". Curiously to know why, they replied, "I don't want to die for the Filipino,
for in this generation, my sacrifice won't matter" other's replied like this, " If I die for the Filipino, who
cares?" And it burned my heart hearing those words coming from them, from the youth. And in this
time, one of my friends replied " No. I don't want to die for the Filipino People, because I want to lived
for them. Our ancestors who fight for our freedom and democracy died, and we won't let this happen. If
I will die, who would have to fight for our future? Who would have to shout for justice? I will lived for
them. For my family and my children. For my childrens children. And for all the generations to come."
Her answer replaced my burned heart with overflowing fire for her loved for the country.

Even though most of the youth don't want to die, because they believed that in this generation to
survive is the only thing that matters, there are always one or two person who will stand and fight for
what is right and just, a person who whole heartedly give all his or her life for the country with sincerity,
integrity, and a good leadership. And that makes a true Filipino.

There is no right time to defend or fight for what we believe is true and right. Our leaders' headline for
today is composed of corruptions, linked in to illegal drugs, murders or extra- judicial killing, and or in a
political dynasty who are greedy in power in position. But now, we will make a new generations with an
opened eye for truth, a youth that stands for justice, a youth that makes a right decision and willing to
help other people. It is the time for the youth to proved to the society that they are the HOPE.

It is my pleasure to deliver this speech.
