las actividades en la lista de abajo y agrega 5 más.)

*chat with friends.

* have online classes
* zoom with professors
* walk my dog
* Play video games
* Do homework for the university
* Cook
* Clean my house
* Wash clothes
* Watch Netflix movies
* Listen to music

Task 2: (reading)

Let´s read this article about habits during this pandemic. Check if there are similarities with the activities you ticked in the
previous exercise. (Leamos este texto sobre hábitos durante la pandemia. Busca coincidencias con las actividades que
marcaste en el ejercicio anterior.)

So what can you do to stay connected and make the best of isolation? Here are some ideas to help.

1
You can playback videos at the same time, mute to discuss key plot points, and even enjoy a meal or drink
together while you watch. Netflix has introduced Netflix Party, which allows users to link up with friends and host
long-distance movie nights.

If you normally eat breakfast at 8am, keep doing so. If you’re used to cooking dinner at a certain time, then tuning
in to your favourite TV show, do that too. If you usually meet with a friend for coffee on a Wednesday, keep it in
your schedule, but arrange a video call instead.

These things may seem small, but a “normal” routine helps to ground us in times of isolation.

There are countless options. EdX gives you access to more than 2,500 courses from institutions including
Harvard, MIT, Berkeley and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The courses are free, but if you don´t pay a small optional fee, you don´t get a certificate, which could build up
your resume. Or simply take the opportunity to learn about something you’ve always been interested in.

Now, there´s a new type of exercise! Ahora vemos otro tipo de ejercicio:

“Find words in the text with the following meanings”

In this exercise, we have to look for the words (in the text) whose meanings are below. They can be pronouns,
verbs, adverbs, phrases, adjectives. So you have to pay attention to the definition and discover what type of
word it refers to.
En este ejercicio, tenemos que buscar palabras en el texto cuyo significado está en el ejercicio. Pueden ser
pronombres, verbos, adverbios, frases, adjetivos. Entonces, debemos prestar atención a la definición y
descubrir qué tipo de palabra es.

Let´s see TWO examples! ¡Veamos dos ejemplos!

2
 the complete separation from others of a person (paragraph nº 1): …………………

In this case, the definition says “the complete separation” so we can guess this definition is for a noun, not a
verb. And it is in singular form. Then, we look for a word in paragraph nº1 that has to do with being distant from
others… Then the answer is isolation (NOUN)

En este caso leemos en la definición “the complete separation…” que traducimos como “la separación
completa” …entonces esta definición se refiere a un sustantivo, no a una acción. Y está en singular. Luego
leemos que dice: separación de otros de una persona en párrafo nº 1… entonces la respuesta es: ISOLATION!
(sustantivo)

Another example:

 to reproduce a sound or video recording again. (paragraph nº 2)

In this case, the definition says “to reporduce” so we can guess this definition is for a verb because of the to
infinitive form. Then, we go to the paragraph and look for a verb which means “to reproduce a sound or video
recording again.” The answer then is PLAYBACK (VERB).

En este caso, la definición comienza con “to reproduce…” entonces podemos ver que el “to” introduce un
verbo. Vamos al párrafo y buscamos un verbo que signifique “reproducir un sonido o un video nuevamente.” La
respuesta es: PLAYBACK (VERBO)

In this exercise, then, we have to pay attention to the meanings and to identify if it refers to a noun, a verb, an
adjective, an adverb or a phrase. If we are not sure, we use the DICTIONARY (English- Spanish one). Right?

En este ejercicio, entonces, debemos prestar atención a los significados e identificar si refiere a un sustantivo,
verbo, adjetivo, adverbio o frase. Si no estamos seguros, utilizamos el diccionario Español- Ingles. Ok?

Let´s do the exercise! We`ve just learnt how to solve it!

Vamos al ejercicio! ¡Ya aprendimos cómo resolverlo !

2) Find words in the text with the following meanings:

a. the main story of a movie (paragraph nº 2):

b. to give permission (paragraph nº 2):
c. to make a plan for a date (paragraph nº 3):
d. to establish an idea or belief (paragraph nº 4):
e. payments for services (last paragraph):
