“NAME OF THE FIRM”

Respected Recruitment team,

I am Utkarsh Trivedi, a 4th year student at National Law University Odisha and am writing to apply
for an internship position at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) under the Dispute Resolution Team
for the month of May 2021. Being an intern with SAM would allow me to continue my commitment
to learning about commercial law and familiarising with different facets of the same and I feel
confident that I could contribute substantively to the work of any commercial law offices while
strengthening the skills I’ll need for a career in commercial law. Additionally, working with Partners
such as Mr. Ajit Warrier and Ms. Ila Kapoor will not only increase my knowledge base, but make me
commercially aware as well. As a student at the National Law University Odisha (NLUO), I have written
research papers on Tax Law, Arbitration Law and have done moots on Competition Law and
Criminal Law. This semester, I have gotten involved with NLUO’s Centre for Public Policy, Law and
Good Governance to ensure the public consultations of draft bills are adhered to by the masses. This
has made me commercially aware about the various bills to be put on the tables of the houses.
Additionally, interning with Senior Advocates and leading law firms, such as Cyril Amarchand
Mangaldas, Khaitan & Co, Hemant Sahai Associates and L&S has kept me updated on the issues
concerning the field of Commercial law. In furtherance of my interest for dispute resolution, I have
attended the Austrian Arbitration Academy at the University of Vienna and have also received a
Diploma in International Arbitration from the same, and have also received a certificate from the
University of Leiden on Arbitration. I have been working closely with Prof. Prakhar Chauhan from
Jindal Global Law School in furtherance of research in Arbitration Law. I hope to have the
opportunity to be an intern with your esteemed firm. Thank you in advance for your time and
consideration.

Sincerely,

Utkarsh Trivedi.
