ORAL ACTIVITY 7 – CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

I) Discuss these questions with your tutor:

1. What are the most common crimes in your city or town?

2. What has been the biggest crime story in Brazil in the last few months?

3. Is there trial by jury in Brazil?

4. What’s your opinion about the death penalty?

5. What precautions can be taken against robbery?

6. If drugs were legalized, would there be less crime?

7. What can be done to reduce crime in Brazil?

II) Are there any justifications for these crimes? Choose two and try
to think of as many justifications for it as you can. Is there any which
you can’t think of any justification for?
