Is progress being made in the fight against poverty? Why or why not?

Yes, progress was being made. With countless efforts to combat poverty, surely there
was some progress to it. Ever since it has been an old enemy of any country. From some recent
survey, from 2015 to 2020, the rate of poverty declined from 21.6% to 16.6%. This was mainly
for the efforts of the government.

The government has implemented programs to combat poverty such as: Greater Access
to Education, that gives access to affordable education; Access to Healthcare, though
healthcare isn’t free its main objective was to give access, so those in poverty will have more
access to health services; Family Aid, a further effort to support citizens. The program gives
grants so long as they meet certain requirements, including keeping the children in school, and
having parents or guardians attend Family Development Sessions; Economic Improvement, with
the goal of prioritizing local production for the population by stabilizing the supply. The
program also aims to benefit locals by creating a more efficient and competitive market system.
