Assignment 1

Q1. What is the importance of body language or paralanguage for presentation?

Ans. Body language comprises gesture, stance, and facial expression. More than half of your impact as
a speaker depends upon your body language. When you are presenting positive body language
becomes an essential tool in expressing your emotions, and connect with your listeners. It also
helps your listeners focus more intently on you and what you're saying. The tricky thing about
body language is that you are usually unaware of the messages you're conveying. Effective body
language supports the message and projects a strong image of the presenter. Audiences
respond best to presenters whose bodies are alive and energetic. Audiences appreciate
movement when it is meaningful and supportive of the message. The most effective movements
are ones that reflect the presenter's personal involvement in the message. One should always
keep the following points in mind.

1. Gesture: - Use hands to emphasize a point, to express emotion, to release tension, and to
engage your audience

2. Stance: - A balanced stance with weight even but slightly forward tends to say that the
speaker is engaged with the audience.

3. Facial expression: - The movements of your eyes, mouth, and facial muscles can build a
connection with your audience.

Q2. How visual aids and graphical elements play vital role in power point presentation?

Ans. Visual aids are worth including in presentations because they can help in explaining information
more coherently which makes presenting easier and learning easier for the audience. They also help
add variety to the presentation thus making it more interesting for the audience. If the audience
understands what you're saying and they are more engaged, they're more likely to be persuaded by
you. Your visual strategy can encompass one or more of the following goals.

 Evoking Feelings: Through choice of color, typeface and other visual attributes, the purpose of
your visual is to draw on the emotions. Visual strategies that correspond to this goal are
called decoratives.
 Evoke Action: Another goal of presentation graphics can be to move an audience to take action.
This is often done through the build of a bulleted list that will influence the audience to commit.
These visual strategies are known as indicatives.
 Promote Understanding: A third reason for using visuals is to promote understanding through
informative visuals like charts, graphs, diagrams and tables that express a concept. Visual strategies
that promote understanding are considered informatives.

Q.6.How imperfections and disapprovals can help us for our betterment.

Ans. Imperfection in all forms and everywhere shows honesty, hope, and genuineness – better than

greatness ever can. Imperfection inspires because it doesn’t force us but lets us simply be. The pursuit of

greatness makes us delusional. We lie about our potential. We refuse to accept that we’re ordinary. The

confidence that comes with such pursuit is brittle – it breaks someday or the other.

That’s when our imperfections rescue us

Our incompleteness tells us that we can achieve more. Our weaknesses show us that there’s still space

for betterment. Impermanency of life signals that we can always move on.

The truths that we run away from are what we need, and they come disguised as flaws sometimes.
