OVERVIEW, PREPARATION, AND SETUP
Lab Overview
Provide a high-level description of this lab.
Example Text: The lab exercises are designed to complement your training, reinforcing the key concepts by applying and demonstrating what you learn in the
presentation sessions. This lab book is comprised of individual exercises. The individual exercises allow you to get first hands-on exposure working with the various HCM
Cloud products using a demo environment, where you will see how key features and functionality are deployed in the software.
You will be using a software environment assigned to you by Demo Services or otherwise provided through your manager.
What you see displayed in your environment may not match exactly with the lab screenshots. Screenshots are provided solely for illustrative purposes to help guide you
directionally through the user interface.

LAB: APPLY FOR A JOB

In this exercise you will apply for a job from the perspective of an external candidate. Applying for this job will show you the process of applying for a job within the
Oracle Recruiting.
Note: This can be done on a mobile device as well.
In a normal demo, you would upload a resume that would parse most of the information you will type for this exercise.
LAB Steps:
Step Action
1. 1 Start on the launch page. Click on launch demo, this will open the environment landing page.
Once here, click Auxiliary Links in the left panel.
2. Resulting screen:
In order to apply externally, we need to get to the external entry point, which would normally be a careers link on a customer’s website.
3. 3Click on the Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) link.

Career sites are an opportunity for a company to engage applicants in understanding the culture and benefits of working for their company. Career
sites are fully configurable for our customers. Let’s search for a job.
5. Enter Senior in the keyword search field and click the search icon (magnifying glass).
Now we can see all the open job requisitions with the word Senior in them.
7. Let’s apply for the Senior HR Analyst job opening in Redwood City, CA.
Click in the tile for Senior HR Analyst.
We are now looking at the posting for Senior HR Analyst. Here we can show videos or descriptions that help candidates understand how this job is
critical to our company and what requisite skills, experiences will make someone successful.
9. Scroll down and review the content of the job posting.
10. 6Click the Apply Now button.

You are now brought into the application process. The goal of any application process is to get a person to complete the process so you can collect
their information. Many companies struggle with people abandoning the process because it is too long or difficult. Applicant processes are
configurable by customers they can be as short as a customer wants. And most applicant tracking systems require someone to have an account to
apply, which discourages people from applying, Oracle Recruiting only requires you have an email or phone number.
12. 7We’re going to use email today.

Enter an email address.
Note: In order to get correspondence, you’ll want to use your Oracle email address, but each email address can only be used once. So the easiest way
to do both is to use this convention:
Candidate_zzzz-zzzz+first.last@oraclepdemos.com (where zzzz-zzzz is your environment designation) this will send the email to convergence email
on demo services
Examples: Candidate_eqkg-dev2+jane.doe@oraclepdemos.com
13. 8Click the Next button.

If your instance has it turned on, you may also see a LinkedIn import button here. The fastest way to get your information into the application is with
an upload of a resume or import from LinkedIn or Indeed. However, for this exercise, we’ll be entering our information manually.
15. Scroll down and enter the following information in the contact information section:
 Lastname: Enter a Lastname

 Firstname: Enter a First name
 Reenter email address: enter the same email as above
 Phone number Country Code: Type +1 and select United States from the drop-down of values
16. Scroll down and answer the job application questions.
17. Scroll down to the Experience > Work and Education History section.
18. Click the Add Experience + button. This will open a pop-up box.
19. Enter the following information:
 Employer Name: Pick a company

 Job Title: HR Generalist
 Start Date Month/year: June 2017
 Current Job: Check box on for this
20. Click the Done button for pop up.
You now have a graphical representation of your experience on the screen.
22. Click the Add Education + button. This will open a pop-up box.
23. Enter the following information in the pop up:
 Degree: Select BS – Bachelor of Science

 Major: Organizational Development
 School: Select Aberdeen College (Note: you can type ahead for the start of a college to see if it’s in the list)
 Start date month/year: Sept 2013
 End date month/year: May 2017
 Year Acquired: 2017
24. Click the Done button to close pop up.
And now your education shows too if you scroll down.
26. Scroll down through Supporting Documents and URL section.
27. You could add skills but we’re not going to do that for this exercise.
Check the box for I agree to receive updates about new job opportunities.
Check the box for I agree to receive marketing communications.
28. 1 Click the Submit button.

Since we never had you make an account, we want to make sure you are giving us a valid email before we finish your application.
30. 1 You will receive an email with a verification code. You will need to sign in to the Convergence Web Mail Client to access the email.

. Note: This email could take several minutes to receive.
31. From the Environment Landing Page click on Auxiliary Links.
Click on Web Mail Client.
This will open in another tab.
Username will be the email address you entered for your candidate.
Candidate_zzzz-zzzz@oraclepdemos.com
Password is the password for your instance that you copied to your clipboard.
Then click the Sign In button.
Open the email with the subject: Confirm your identity for job Senior HR Analyst – 801
Note: Once you receive verify the candidate identity in Oracle Recruiting, you will receive the second email you see here.
Navigate back to the recruiting tab labeled, Senior HR Analyst – Vision Technology and use the code in the email to verify your application.
36. 1 Enter the verification code and click the Verify button.

38. 1 Navigate back to the Convergence tab.

. You will receive another email stating that your application have been received by the recruiting team.
