Consider the situation described in Seedhouse (1995) and then in


groups use the needs information collected to do the following:

1. Suggest a broad aim for the revised course.


2. Break your aim down into some specific objectives.
3. Suggest one way in which the needs analysis information might affect
the way you
re-design the course.

Answer:

We have discussed the questionnaire results which was conducted on a


group of learners in a General English classroom. So we suggest one
broad aim and three specific objectives based on the needs information
as follows :

The Broad Aim :

To use the language in real life situations .

The Specific Objectives :

1. To acquire new lexical items .

2. To use the language meaningfully.

3. To encourage spontaneous communication.

4. To develop fluency skills for writing .

The suggested way :

Inter-school contacts that will motivate the learners to learn English in a


way meets their psychological and social needs. Inter-school is making
contacts with schools in other countries by an email exchange program .
By this way, they will use their language in communicating with native
speakers.
