STUDY OF FISH MARKETING TO INCREASE FISHERMEN COMMUNITY INCOME AND REGION

DEVELOPMENT IN
PROBOLINGGO CITY

ABSTRACT the

market is one of the important components that spearhead the flow of fishery commodities. The market is not
only a medium for meeting the supply and demand functions of fishery products, but more than that the market is a
manifestation of social dynamics where the source of livelihoods through the selling price mechanism of the product is
produced. supply of capture fish products and regional development in Probolinggo City (2) identify and analyze internal
and external conditions of the people in Probolinggo City in carrying out their activities as fishermen (3) compile and
analyze strategies that can be determined in increasing the income of fishing communities in Probolinggo City (4 )
applying relevant policies that can be taken by the Regional Government of Probolinggo City regarding alternative
strategies produced for regional development based on the improvement of the economy of the fishing community. In
this study using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. unakan in this study are primary data and secondary
data. Data collection techniques are used by means of questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation.
Sampling uses Slovin method with an error rate of 10%. Data analysis techniques used were descriptive qualitative
analysis, quantitative analysis, IFAS and EFAS analysis, and SWOT mactric analysis. The results obtained from this
study using the technical analysis were relevant strategic policies from eleven aggressive strategies that could be chosen
by the Probolinggo City Government in developing regional development for the improvement of community welfare is
the formation and strengthening of fishing cooperatives.
