“ THAT GLOBAL FREE TRADE HAS DONE MORE HARM THAN GOOD “
I agree because Trade, global or otherwise, do more good than harm simply
by increasing the output and variety of goods made available. Any harm caused could
include transportation-related pollution and environmental impact but that can be solved
by advanced technology paid from profits earned. Whether a less sophisticated society is
harmed when trading with more advanced societies is definitely debatable today unless
criminal activity is involved. In the past there were cases where a backward society gave
up items of greater value to traders from rich countries while receiving goods of lesser
value is a grossly unfair trade practice but those are isolated incidents that are largely
absent and certainly not the case today. Global free trade is generally a good idea.
However, if a company in your country that are not able to compete with foreign goods
and forced to close the factory, this will mean jobs will be lost and people will need
work. Demand for welfare will increase. This is where the government comes in and to
raise the price of the goods via tariff so that the company can compete in prices. the more
we export the more my income we are because the global trade earns more when you
import the good we can expand the economy and also recognize the goods or products of
a country like bags look at who is the big bag industry Italy LV or channel know about
phone japan or America
